XM Satellite Radio Complaint - Abuse of the Elderly
My 77-yr-old mother was sold a "lifetime" subscription for her car and a new radio. She has no driver's license, but because she formerly had XM when she first bought the car in 2008, XM has her data. When my brother & I tried to get a refund for the $564.76, we were initially told that a refund would be given within 2 weeks of the return of the equipment. Now, they won't even talk to us over the phone, even though my brother has POA. Supervisor Vaughn says that a "lifetime" subscription is nonrefundable! Because my mother answered the phone & said "YES" on that day, XM considers her "competent"-- no matter that a neurologist has found mild dementia (which is why she lost her driver's license. It looks like we will need to go through some other agency to get this resolved.
