Whirlpool Cabrio Washer - Complaint
BENTON HARBOR, MICHIGAN -- We purchased a Cabrio Washer in July of 2009 from Sears along with a 5 year extended warranty. Since the purchase there have been several times that we get error mesasages that tell us it is too full when it is not (only a couple items like a delicate load) & it shuts down on us. We have had to turn the power off & restart the load completely. Well, on May 29th (less than 11 months old) it shut down completely & would not drain the water. A&E whom both Whirlpool & Sears use for servicing under warranty could not get a service man here until June 10th. We ended up with Mildew in our machine which we predicted may happen waiting this long. One technician on the phone told us to pour bleach in our machine until a service man arrived of which we said no to because of fear the bleach may strip the inside or cause more damage. Well now we had a broken machine with a mildew inside that we don't want to wash our clothes in. Then once the tech arrived on June 10 a whole other mess began. The 3 parts he ordered for the machine have been on back order & are still on back order today (July 8th yep 6 weeks later SO FAR that is). Everyone at A&E has been very nice & professional but all the people but 2 at Whirlpool have been very rude & not professional at all. I told one man how much we have been out so far on using the washateria & he said something like " I have 7 children & it doesn't cost that much ". First of all is it his business to judge his customer on how much I wash clothes & secondly (as I judge him) I wonder how often his poor kids have to rewear their clothes & how often he washes their sheets?
My machine is only 11 months old now so should they not have parts for it. How crazy is this?? We paid a lot for this machine & the extended warranty. The least they could do while we wait for them to fix our machines is for them to pay for the washateria or a rental machine. They would have much happier customers. I now refuse to ever buy a Whirlpool after this. In fact we are talking about selling it once its fixed because we don't want to deal with them. I plan to write this complaint on every site I can find. I'm so frustrated in how we have been treated.
