Whirlpool - Unsatisfactory Customer Service
Whirlpool front loading washing machine AWG371 - Complaint
On June 21, 2010 I made a complaint to the local Whirlpool service center in Delhi India. Today is the 11 of July. Whirlpool has been unable to identify the problem!!
One week after the initial complaint and repeated phone calls an "engineer' came. He looked at the machine like he had never seen a machine before. He did not know where to look for the model no. or the serial no. of the machine. He just said the machine could not be repaired as it was an old 'foreign' model. He also said that the program button was not functioning.
I called the service dept again. Upon my insistence they registered another complaint. I also told them to send another engineer. This second man was a little better. He tried to diagnose the problem. He said the two-way inlet valve needed replacement.
Not convinced, my husband called a technician from the neighborhood service shop. He was called on the 10 of July, and today on the 11th he has repaired the machine. The problem was a faulty door lock which needed replacement.
Shame on Whirlpool who could not diagnose the problem and do not take care to employ qualified people and have no way to check if complaints are being genuinely attended to.
