Mercury Insurance company Complaint - Accident

Review by pattie on 2005-01-17
NEW JERSEY -- In Dec of 03 I was hit by a truck on the drivers side fender. The car behind me told both insurances companies that I was not moving when I got hit. I was stopped while trying to enter the left turn only lane right past the channelization lines. The truck was driving up the lines and half of the truck was in the south bound lane when traffic started to come down. He had to get out of the southbound lane in a hurry and as he did this he hit my car beginning on the drivers side fender and tore off the entire front of my car as well as hitting my tire. With this information the insurance coompanies have agreed that I was 50% at fault. Even tho I issued the driver a ticket to which he pleaded guilty was fined $150. plus court cost and the driver of the vehicle that was behind me gave the statement that I was at a dead stop. Now explain it to me. Unless I am a magician there is no way I should have any fault at all.

Sounds like you play free and loose with the law.
Maybe the insurance company isn't as easily intimidated by crooked cops. Too bad that you weren't found 100% at fault.
