Hotwire, Inc Complaint - Hotwire Takes Your Money But Doesn't Pay for Car Rental
I made a reservation for a car rental with Hotwire to pick up a car; my mistake was that I needed to make the reservation for pick up on July 8 but accidently made it for July 9. When I realized my mistake, I called Hotwire to see if they would get me the car on July 8 and was promptly told no. I was told to see if Enterprise would get me a car for that day and I eventually did connect with Enterprise for a car to be picked up on July 8.
On July 12, I returned the car to Enterprise. Thanks to the folks at Hotwire, I found out that they NEVER paid the cost of the original contract. I ended up having to spend countless amounts of time on the phone and had to pay Enterprise their going rate. I was told that Hotwire would reimburse me for the original cost....but not before having to call back twice and spending more time on the phone.
Thanks to stupid Hotwire, I ended up spending MORE then I had planned. I was even told that I never picked up the car...which was not true. I had the car for 4 1/2 days and it WAS picked up on time.
I realize I made a mistake when I originally made my reservation; however, Hotwire should have paid Enterprise what I was charged. They were in the wrong here and made me jump through more hoops to be reimbursed.
