Clear Wireless Internet Complaint - Lied To By Clear Sales Person !!
A few months back my husband and I were at Best Buy in Orland Park, Il and we were speaking to a Clear sales person in regards to wireless internet service. The Clear salesman explained the features of the service and my husband asked him several times if we would be able to pay month to month with no contract and no cancellation fees. My husband explained that he only needed the service for a few months. The salesman assured us over and over that there was NO CONTRACT and that we could cancel at any time with NO FEES.
So then on July 13,2010 at 8:30pm my husband called to cancel the Clear service and the customer service represenative JOY told my husband that he would be charged $50.00 in order to cancel. She said the sales person at Best Buy who REPRESENTS CLEAR was an independent seller and they weren't responsible for the transaction. She said she also could not find out who sold us the service...which is untrue!Being in retail myself I know at point of sale there is a transaction number and name.
So Clear sells their internet service at Best Buy with an untrained representative who they don't know??He didn't just come off the street with a stolen Clear tshirt and walk behind the counter!He had set up our online account at the store and put the service through right at the store!At the end of my husbands phone conversation which lasted til 9pm...the Clear represenative told my husband if he had wanted the service month to month they would of charged him the activation fee of $35.00.So she was now charging him the $35.00 activation fee because it had been waived at the time of new service. She then said she would cancel the service after charging him that fee(that was waived at the store).If she has nothing to do with the sale at the store as she said, then why is she charging us a fee of $35.00 for activation?Our guess is....they are losing money and customers for their misleading sales information and untrained sales people. To those seeking wireless internet service, stick your local cable or phone service company....DONT GET CLEAR!!! P. S.the last month of service, the wifi kept acting up....it was crappy service overall!!!
