David's Bridal-New Haven/Orange Complaint - Bad Service - Wedding Attire

Review by vee123 on 2010-07-14
NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT -- I went searching for a Mother of the Groom dress. Upon entering the store, several sales people were milling around yet no one greeted us or asked if they could help. We looked through the small collection of bridesmade/mother of the bride dresses. I tried a few on. Again, no one offered to help, yet several sales women were chatting together. I had a question of length on one of the dresses and had to search out a sales person. They curtly answered the question, and dismissed me. I went on to Lord and Taylor which has the best selection of formal dresses around.

I would not recommend this store to anyone. I have dealt with other bridal salons, who really want to sell something.

I think you made a wise choice. You probably found something better at L&T. As the mother of the bride or groom, I don't think I would go to David's Bridal for a dress. There are too many other alternatives.

My sister's MIL bought a bridesmaids dress for her mother-of-the-groom outfit. But, she always was a few crayons short of a full box.

Our local David's Bridal is just as terrible.
Before my wife and I got married, she went to David's Bridal. She ordered a dress and gave the deposit. almost three months later when she called to see if the dress was in yet they told her 'oh, that was discontinued before your ordered it' when asked why they took the $250 deposit 'um, I don't know'. We went down and had to cause a pretty good scene to get the money back and went else where.
I've told all of our friends about this and many have just skipped the store.
