Radiology Associates of Atlanta, P.A. Complaint - Complaint - Medical Billing

Review by morrowbusiness on 2001-09-25
ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- I was patient at Piedmont Hospital in 1998. During my procedure, the doctors at Piedmont Hospital apparently used Radilogy Associates to perform the radiology services. My insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia paid the hospital bill and a portion of the radiology service bill. I received a notice from my insurance company stating that all medical bills had been paid in full and that I did not owe any money. Apparently, Blue Cross only paid $45.00 to Radiology Associate. The original bill was $425.00. I was not aware of this situation. My insurance company sent me a statement saying I did not owe any money. I never received a notice from Radiology Associates. In 2000 I applied for a job and was denied because of an outstanding collection. Radiology Associates placed the account on my credit in October of 2000 without ever contacting me. When I found out about this situation I immediately contacted Blue Cross and requested payment to Radiology Associate. Blue Cross paid the bill immediately, however, Radiology Associates collection agency refuse to remove this collection account from my credit. I am dismayed that I have to deal with a bad mark on my credit for something I did not know about. I would like the following:

I want this item removed from my credit report. All three.

At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
