Extended Stay America Complaint - Never Again

Review by imeancomeon on 2010-07-14
I stayed at the Extended Stay America in Whitestone, NY and have to say that I am not impressed at all. Upon entering the room it smelled really musty, like a moldy refridgerator. I left for the day to go to work and when I came back I noticed my bed was not made and my towels were still on the floor and that no cleaning was done. What they failed to tell me when the hotel was booked was that they will only clean your room once every 7 days of your stay and if you want it to be cleaned more often it would cost $10 per service and $5 every time you only want a refresh. They have 25 channels on the TV which are mostly news channels, very few program channels. I couldn't tell which was more comfortable, the bed or the floor and to top everything off they charged me $8 a day to park in THIER parking lot. As expensive as it is to stay there, I shouldn't have to pay extra for parking and service. I will never ever stay at another Extended Stay America Hotel.

The problem with ESA is that it's basically set up like a short-term apartment, not a regular hotel. It's too bad that the place smelled bad and they charged you for parking. I stayed at a ESA in Peoria, IL 2 years ago and the first room we were in had leftover food from a previous guest and smelled of cigarette smoke (we had requested a non-smoking room). I complained and we were moved to another room within minutes.
