Comcast Corporation Complaint - Subpar Service
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. -- We came across a bundle package with Comcast a few months ago that included phone, internet and satellite service for less than what we were paying with our AT&T/DirecTV bundle. Plus the Internet speed was much faster than what we were getting at the time. Needless to say, we made the switch. Thus far, we deeply regret doing so.
We've only had the service for about 3 months, and the technicians have already had to come to our home twice...once for Internet issues, the other for faulty satellite receivers. However, the problems remain unresolved.
All three receivers very frequently project a scrambled picture, often accompanied by long periods of no audio. It happens at all times of the day and night, and during all types of weather conditions. Programs we set to record through the DVR very often don't record properly. For instance, if we set an hour-long episode of a TV series to record, it will record only about the first 15 to 20 minutes of the program before it turns into a blank, black screen for the remainder of the recording. Also, we have a very difficult time changing the channel when the channel we're currently viewing is in HD, for some reason. We have performed numerous resets on the receivers to try to rectify these issues, and nothing has been resolved.
The internet is also constantly going down for periods ranging from 5 minutes to 2 hours. We have tried purchasing a new router, tampering with PC/router settings, replacing the modem, disabling firewalls, etc. The issues still remain. Just this morning, I failed a timed test worth 20% of my grade for my online class because the service decided to have one of its "hiccups" and go offline when I went to submit the exam. I'm having to rely on the WiFi offered at my local Dunkin Donuts for a steady, stable connection.
While AT&T and DirecTV are far from flawless companies, I've never had service issues to this extent with them. While the AT&T service was slower, it never went offline...and the few imperfections I've had with my satellite signal/quality with DirecTV only occurred during ominous weather conditions, which is understandable.
I don't like to complain..I'd much rather be posting a compliment and boasting how awesome Comcast is, but there is nothing to praise at the moment. Hopefully that will change sometime soon.
