I just got off the phone with a very helpful employee of the Tax Defense Network. He was very clear about what there services would be offered toward resolving my $13K in tax debt. His explanation of what they would do and not do was easy to understand and he was honest when I asked some pointed questions about why they were better than my trying to do this myself. He also told me that in my case I wouldn't qualify for any settlement it would be all about protecting my assets, and income and getting the payment that I could afford agreed upon. I told him that I wanted to give it a try directly with the IRS which he cautioned against, but wasn't overbearing in his discussion. I will definitely give them a call back if I'm unable to work directly with the IRS on this matter.
