Charter Communications Complaint - Very bad buisness practice
I had the charter bundle for almost year I decided to drop the phone and some other features to save money while I was deployed. after returning I noticed I had been paying for the phone for over 6 months. I called charter and explained my situation they claimed they have no recored of me calling to disconect the phone but they do have a memo of me removing the other features on the bundle. after my dispute nothing was resolved execpt for the obvious" we can give you free hbo for 6 months". I disconnected the entire account and returned the box. a couple days later I received a bill for $228 dollars which I paid via electronic payment through my bank. I called and asked about the bill and was told it was a "equipment bill" and the account was at a zero balance, I stated that I returned the cable box and after some researching through there system they found the box. here comes the good part, I told them I would like a refund of my $228 the woman made me jump through loops asking address, phone number, last 4 of social, secrect password and account number. I was on hold for 20 minutes while she spoke with accounting department, after returing I was told it would take 6-8 weeks for a check to be sent to my address but first charter communicatiosn is gonna need your banks electronic comfirmation number of the payment. what gives are cable companies that greedy?why all the security? my bank doesn't even ask that many questions, even I want to transfer thousnads of dollars to my brother in Germany.
