Walmart Automotive, Mountain Grove, Mo Compliment - Walmart Auto Tech Went Out of His Way

Review by Captbob on 2010-07-17
MOUNTAIN GROVE, MISSOURI -- I am not a particularly big fan of Walmart, but in my town it is the biggest store there is. I am a 58 year old over the road trucker. Recently my wife called me at about 5 pm to tell me her 1998 Camry would not start. I don't know why she waited all day to call, but she did.

I called a good friend of mine named Gary and asked if he could check it out when he got home from work. Gary got to my house around 7 pm, got the car started and drove to the Walmart auto center in Mountain Grove. By the time he got there the service center was closed and only one tech remained. He informed Gary that the center was closed and he had to come back tomorrow. Gary explained that my wife needed the car for 4 am the next morning to go to work. The tech whose name I never learned, changed back into his work clothes, inspected the old battery and replaced it after hours.

You don't know how good it feels to know that a low paid auto tech who is about to go home after a long day will stop to take care of my wife while I am not around. Thank you sir, who ever you are. By the way I informed the store manager about this selfless act of kindness.

It may not seem like it sometimes, but there are employees out there who care and take pride in their jobs. Luckily, your friend found one of them. I hope he's identified by the manager and gets the credit he deserves. It was nice of you to share this experience. Thanks.
