Mexicana Airlines Complaint - Screw Mexicana Airlines! Thieves (Mexicana Agents) & Horrible Landing!

Complaint
Review by Kalina Meachgo on 2010-07-17
JFK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND CANCUN INTERNATIONAL, NEW YORK -- We went as a family of 10 on July 6th and Mexicana Airlines landing was the worst!! Was never stabled, ruined every one's mood and the urge to wanting to throw up....
But the Worst of the Worst was that while returning back on July 11th, we claimed our luggage and found out that they cut off our locks and broke the ring of the zipper. Like What the CrazY! Never in our entire life have an airline taking off our locks, that's our property. The Mexicana Airlines agents searched through our luggage without our permission and we found out that we got our own personal valuable things stolen! Everything was messed up, and because of their stupidity, our souvenirs were cracked and we weren't able to give them to our friends. Stuff they had stolen can never be replaced.

We recommend you to never take this airline even if it's at NO costs, it will ruin the happiness of your vacation! >:[ >.<"

Planes often bounce on landing, especially if it is windy. Even the best pilots can't change the affects of wind on an airplane.

As for your locks, those were opened by the airport security and not the airline... It is pretty widely known that you are not supposed to lock your bags for any flight in/from/to the USA since 9/11.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good one. It could have been US Customs and Border Protection that opened your bags. You're not supposed to lock bags, especially on international flights. Without the keys they need to break them open. They do however sell locks that only the TSA can open.

If you've never had the pleasure of being onboard a commercial aircraft when the landing gear was not working properly, well that one was a real treat. Try one approaching for a landing and all of a sudden it was full throttle and the aircraft suddenly shot up like a rocket. I will say on that one the pilot came over the speaker, after everyone had suffered a heart attack, and announced they were a bit too close behind the aircraft in front of them. Those are two I will never forget.

I'm sorry you had a problem with Mexicana Airlines but I'm at the point now I don't lock any checked baggage. I might be asking for trouble but if there is an opportunity your luggage will be ripped opened in a heartbeat, lock or no lock, if someone is looking to steal something.

Passengers are very clearly told not to lock their luggage before flying. Airport security does have the right and the responsibility to search your luggage before flying.

Frankly, you're lucky they were willing to break the lock. They could have also set the luggage aside, not allowing it to board the plane.
