Ashley Table From Brewbakers In Petoskey, Mi Complaint - Think Before You Buy At Brewbakers In Northern Michigan
PETOSKEY, MICHIGAN -- I loved my new table and chairs I purchased at Brewbakers in Petoskey Michigan, until my cat knocked over a vase on it while I was at work. The vase only had about 2 cups of water in it, but it warped the table so bad the wood the top was made of, buckled. Even with a table cloth on it, it looks incredibly warped.
The Brewbakers website selling this table says, it is hardwood. You have to look under in detailed specs to see that it has laminate pieces. Dining room furniture should in my opinion hold up to some spillage. If it had left a water mark I could live with that, but totally coming apart, warping and buckling?
So I contacted Brewbakers, and their reply was seeing I did not purchase the "wood warranty" protection, I was not covered. They should of had a "laminate warranty" because that is what the top is made of. And the one year warranty from the manufacture only covered defects in workmanship.
I asked the customer service representative from Brewbakers wouldn't it be considered a defect because it's not normal for a dining table to do buckle and warp?
She said she couldn't help me. And I couldn't just purchase a new table, it was a set.
All this would have not happened if the Ashley Furniture company would have just sealed the table top with a good varnish. What would that have cost?
I would have done it myself if I had known it was made sooo cheaply.
I have lost faith in Brewbakers and will never purchase anything from them in the future. They do not stand behind their products.
