Eclectic Home Furnishings Complaint - Poor quality furniture

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA -- The table that was loaded into my car was wrapped entirely with cellophane. When I got home we discovered that it is scratched, lopsided, and poor workmanship. I brought the table back to the store to return it. The owner yelled at me in the store in front of everyone. The table was unloaded from my car. The store owes me $400.

Poor quality furniture and definitely unethical, rude, and disrespectful store owner. This business does not honor their own policy on the receipt that states that the customer receives a full refund if the product is defective.

Part of me wants to say that you should have checked the table before leaving the store, but I think it's human nature for people to be trusting. The fact that it was fully wrapped could have been a red flag, but I can understand if you just figured they wrapped it to avoid any damage during transportation. I think you should get a refund.

I think they also should get a refund. I would assume that since it was wrapped up, that it was to prevent it from being damaged. They may have received it in, wrapped and already damaged, and would not know this, until the customer purchased it, and took it home, unwrapped it, and see's the damage.

Agree and agree. And why do some furniture stores get so bent when stuff like this happens? Furniture does get damaged in transport...no need to yell at the customer, refund their money or re-order their item. Problem solved.
