General Motors Complaint - GM wont stand behind their product!
TROY, MICHIGAN -- My husband contacted GM customer care department in Michigan. Our G6 has a crack in the exhaust manifold with less than 94k miles. We thought that GM might stand behind their vehicle since our extended warranty had recently run out and we also own three other GM cars! Further, since it is an emissions issue; I would think GM would cover this along with the drive train up to 100k miles! Why not??? Afraid you will have to repair or recall???
The first contact was to a gentleman named Nestor. He initially said they would cover the repair but it needed to be passed along to Scott Cunningham. At that point, they wasted another week of our time to finally call back and determine they would not repair the vehicle. The manifold is also connected to the catalytic converter as one piece; which now, causes California emissions problems. We have been told that the part alone is almost $1000.00 to replace!
My other G6 - has the starting problem and has the moon roof that comes off the track every 6 months and has to be repaired. It makes more noise than a bus on a dirt road!!!
Thanks so much GM!!! I can GUARANTEE you that I will NEVER purchase another GM vehicle. My next one (and I need two) will be ANYTHING but GM. A little PR with your customers would go a long way. Of course, now it will go the opposite.
My recommendation to all consumers: Don't buy this piece of junk even if its a bargain off the used car floor. It will be a total waste of money and emotion. I will now use every social media I can find to warn customers away from purchasing ANY GM vehicles since they will not stand behind what they build.
