Ashley Furniture Complaint - Delay with delivery and assembly
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY -- My husband and I went to Ashley Furniture in Louisville, KY (Blankenbaker) for some new furniture. I am pregnant with twin boys and we just moved into a bigger house at the beginning of May. We purchased a new kitchen table and chairs, bed, set of 2 lamps, a few decorative items, and, most importantly, a large desk with hutch for my husband (not to mention, a new living room set in January that we already received months ago) to create his dream office. They said we would have it delivered and assembled in late June, plenty of time to have the house ready for our sons' arrival.
After waiting almost 2 months for our furniture, we finally got it in. It was delivered a little over a week later. After the delivery guys brought everything in, they realized they lost the screws for assembly for the desk. They told us they would order more and we would receive them in the mail in 1-2 business days. After a week of waiting we called Ashley and were told it would take 2-3 weeks to receive them. After nearly 3 weeks of waiting we got the screws in today. Mind you I am now 3 weeks from my due date and our house is a mess from waiting for this furniture (we own a business and work from home). We called to have them come out and assemble the desk and it will be another 2 weeks before they will come to assemble their product. I am so disgusted with their service I will never shop there again and will discourage all friends and family from shopping with them.
UPDATE: They sent us the wrong parts, another 2-3 weeks to get the right ones and then another 2 weeks to get them out to complete. Not only that, but the people that delivery guys could have gone ahead and assembled the desk without the parts and just left off the hutch but instead left it in 4 large pieces scattered throughout the office and foyer.
