British Airways Complaint - British Airways "Missing Items in Luggage" Policy Sucks
I travelled on British Airways recently from Accra to Philadelphia. I checked in at Accra two pieces of luggage containing my laptop and other valuables. My laptop and other items were stolen from my luggage. When I contacted BA of my missing items, BA sent two form letters that BA is not responsible for protection of checked-in luggage.
I cannot understand why a passenger pays almost $6,700 for a business ticket and his securely locked luggage is tampered with and cannot be protected. In spite of British Airways position that checked-in luggage generally pass through several hands during flights, don’t you think it is the responsibility of British Airways to make sure all checked-in luggage are secured and protected?
BA has refused to review this issue of missing items in my checked luggage. Why would BA have a policy that a passenger should not check-in luggage containing valuables? Does it mean that BA hires crooks and thieves as handlers of our luggage? Should BA not protect the passengers and their luggage during flights?
If you know someone who travels by BA, please make sure you inform them that BRITISH AIRWAYS POLICY ON MISSING ITEMS IN LUGGAGE SUCKS….
