530 WILSON ST CISTA MESA, CALIFORNIA -- This company did a repair on my Whirlpool refrigerator for $260.75. THEY CHARGED ME WITH TAX $148.75 FOR THE SMALL FOAM REPLACEMENT PART..THIS EXACT PART IS AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET FOR A TOTAL OF $23.90...

You be the judge if you want to deal with this company...

I understand why people do this because I'm guilty of it too. Sometimes you're put on the spot and just have the repair done. But if the price sounds unreasonably high and waiting is an option, it's better to shop around.

That's what really counts, Skye. As long as I learn something from a mistake, I don't feel so bad. It's when I make the same mistake twice that kills me!

Yes, it was $23.90, but were you able to diagnose, and repair it yourself? In a lot of cases, especially union friendly places as Republik of Kalifornia, labor can be several times the cost of the part.
If you were indeed capable of doing the repair yourself, the complaint would be like griping about paying a guy 40 bucks to cut your grass.
