Time Warner Complaint - Poor Customer Service from Time Warner
HIGH POINT, NORTH CAROLINA -- On June, 21st 2010 I cancelled my cable TV/internet service and returned my equipment to the local office in High Point, NC. Since I had already prepaid my bill through most of July, I requested a refund on the unused portion of my payment which was approximately 3 weeks of service.
I was promptly told that a refund could not be issued from the local office which was strange, since this very same office is a payment office and accepts payments of bills on a daily basis. However the clerk was able to tell me the amount of refund that I would receive back, since she looked up my account and saw that I had in fact paid my bill for July in advance. This refund was well short of what 3 weeks unused portion should have been. The clerk advised me that I must call the national customer office number which required me to wait on hold for almost 45 minutes.
After finally getting the proper customer service person on the phone which took another 20 minutes, I was informed I should be receiving my refund withing a couple of weeks.
Three weeks passed with no refund, but I did receive a new billing statement from Time Warner dated July, 7th. This statement showed a credit of the refund amount which I was told was due back to me. Very strange that the bill showed a credit and not a refund due. What good is a credit for a service that I no longer use !
I called the customer service number at Time Warner and was once again put on hold for a very long time. After finally getting to speak to a representative, I was told that I should receive my refund check within 10 days of the date on the last statement I received.
As of July, 26 I still have not received my refund check, so I once again called Time Warner and asked to speak to a manager in the billing department and got someone named Cameron.
I explained in detail all the events leading up to this current time-frame and his response was that I was being treated the same way that all Time Warner customers were treated. Unbelievable !
After this remark, my response was that, apparently I had done the proper thing in cancelling my service with Time Warner, because they could care less about their customers.
Whe I asked Cameron about my refund check, he told me that it was being mailed. No dates, no time frame etc.....
