CitiFinancial Auto Complaint - CitiFinancial Auto personnel are liars!
COLUMBUS, OHIO -- My brother was in intensive care from 12/29/09 until 3/30/10. He fell behind 3 months on his car payment during this time. My brother lives in Florida and I live in Michigan. I called CitiFinancial Auto to explain the situation and informed them that my brother would probably go on disability. I suggested that they add the 3 payments to the end of the contract and I would make the payments for my brother until he went back to work. They said they could not do it immediately because I would have to create a track record of payments before they could do it. I asked for them to document this in writing and they refused. We had additional conversations and they said they would process the extension after 3 payments. I made the payments in March, April, May and June and was about to send the July payment in when my brother called and said the car was missing. I told him to call the police for a stolen car report and the police told them it was repoed. I called CitiFinancial Auto and they said the told me on several different times that I would have to pay the past due payments and they do not extend the contracts. They are cronic liars and have terrible business practices. This company should be procecuted and forced out of business. A side note is this company inventories your personal posessions in the car and send them across the state to a central respository. You have to drive their and pay a $60.00 storage fee to retrieve your belongings. I call this practice stealing.
