Basement Pros Waldorf MD Complaint - Honest review of work

Review by moosh on 2010-07-29
WALDORF, MARYLAND -- Highly recommend that you do not use this company. They underbid the job, are extremely slow and are not consistent in their work ethics. Very poor craftsmanship and workmanship, door openings not squared, slate tiles not straight, wall not squared or plumbed in our basement project. Used regular drywall in shower stall instead of cement board as stated in home improvement guidelines. Did not properly prep or reinforce the wall to accept a stone facade front fireplace and did not use proper fire resistant cement board around the 4" surround of the double-sided fireplace. It is obvious that the use of a square ruler or plumb line was NEVER used. If you use them, stay on top of their payment draws and be sure you get the materials you paid for per the contract. Make sure you have a completion date in the contract too!!! I was duped BIG TIME and paid for materials (cabinets, granite, flooring materials) that was never provided/received. This is where Basement Pros works the system. They get your money per the draws but they do not complete the work per the schedule. Often they need a draw payment before the work is done/completed. DO NOT USE this company. The owner is charming but not a good business person.

Highly suggest that you avoid this company and any connections to the owner and his business partner. Perhaps our basement project was too big for them, who knows! Strongly suggest you stay on top of them and get your materials if you use them!!!

Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen to me. I hope you take them to task for this. Check to see if your state allows you to file a complaint with the board that licenses contractor's as well
