Nordstrom Informative - Would You Eat Off The Floor At Home? - Bistro

Bistro
Review by salodave on 2010-07-30
TACOMA, WASHINGTON -- I had the opportunity to experience first hand how things are done at the Tacoma mall NORDSTROM BISTRO - first off if chicken is dropped on the floor they just pick it up and put it in with the rest of the chicken. If ribs are left out over night they just serve them to the public. Food is left out for way to long of periods at a time and I think the word cleaning is only in their vocabulary because they sure don't know how to do it.

If somebody brings things to the attention of management they fix the problem they fire the one complaining - problem solved right - so what I'm saying is if you eat at Nordstrom I hope you have a good medical plan. And just so you know the BISTRO also prepares the food for the EBAR.

I'm assuming that you are the one who brought it up and was fired?

if this is true, bring it to the attention of the health department.

Have you reported this to the Health Dept.? Sorry if this cost you your job, but at least you know you will be able to sleep at night. There is a reason food handlers must retest and renew their food handler card every 2 years. Hats off to you for not being afraid to speak out against a wrong.

Would whistleblower laws protect someone in this case?

It would probably have to be proven that that is the reason the OP was fired, and management isn't likely to say that was the reason. And would it really be worth it to the OP to spend the time and resources fighting for a minimum wage job at a mall food court?

That all depends upon a. whether one chooses to do what is easy vs. what is right and b. I'm sure a lawyer can be found that would take the case for a cut of the winnings.

If a lawyer would be willing to take the case, it wouldn't be a "no fee unless you win" case. These things are usually not worth pursuing, but that is up to the OP.

I work at a large Nordstrom, and the restaurant is called the Cafe', I have not seen ribs on the menu once in 8 years....??? If true, health dept and cell phone photos would be good proof!
