United Parcel Service Complaint - UPS - As sure as losing it there your self
I recently had a horrible experience with UPS. My relative shipped out a package to me with weigh over 50 lbs from Los Angeles to Indonesia. The shipping cost is $422 and good description is Paper tag. He shipped it out on Dec 26th 2004 to Indonesia and it never arrived. He has been calling up UPS customer service in US and never get satidafctory answer while I had also been calling UPS customer service in Indonesia and well you know they simply answered that they are just the recipient and I must contact the shipper in US. I have been making alot of international calls to the shipper in Los Angeles and UPS customer service in America from Indonesia. It cost me a lot of money already. I have been sending them email and they never gave satisfactory response. After weeks, UPS told the shipper that the package was lost and they never knew where it was. As a matter of fact, after the package was picked up by UPS guy at his house, it had never been registered in their computer system which means the package was never exported outside U.S. I don't understand at all why there was no record of my package. It just disappeared with no marks. I was sure that there was a thief inside UPS that stole my package. The value of the package was only $48 but it means a lot to me. Otherwise I would not spend $422 for the shipping (makes sense, right?). They finally told the shipper that he may go head file a claim with a condition that he must attach the original invoice of the good. I can't believe UPS would ask that while they know that the invoice was in the package. Since the beginning, UPS has been confusing and troubling the shipper and finally we decided not to file a claim. Because we know that UPS would not pay. Just waste time. Their motto : AS SURE AS TAKING IT THERE YOUR SELF" should be changed to "AS SURE AS LOSING IT THERE YOUE SELF".
