Smith Moving and Storage Complaint - Smith Moving Atlanta /Dishonest movers

Review by clevelandman on 2010-07-30
ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- Smith Moving and Storage in Atlanta damaged my home during the moving process. They initially agreed to pay for damages, but then two days later refused. They are completely dishonest. I would not trust them.
Company Response on 09/21/2010:
We've been in business for a long time in metro Atlanta and we do superior work. In fact, we are the #1 rated moving helper company in the United States. You don't reach such lofty heights by not doing honest business on a regular basis. In this particular instance, the customer demanded an out-of-pocket, "under-the-table" cash settlement, changing the amount a few times before settling on $175.00. Instead of waiting for the insurance claim to run its' course, the customer became very impatient. She didn't like that I hadn't filed it right away. I do have a lot of demands on my time but it would have gotten done before any strict deadlines (30-60 days). We run into many customers that attempt to extort cash from us for a variety of reasons and we handle such attempts very seriously. I'm unable to comment any more on this matter as it could limit us in possible litigation proceedings against the customers for public defamation/libel. Thank you.

In what way did they damage your home? Was it a new home you were moving into or the home you were moving out of?
