Dish Network Complaint - Dish Network Has A Very Low Appreciation For Long Term Customers
After many years (over 10 years I believe) of being one of Dishnetwork's premium subscribers I have canceled my account with them.
I upgraded to their High Definition package a few years ago (maybe 2 years), we had issues with the satellite dish or antenna not being properly aligned. They came back about 2 or 3 times in the past two years in order to correct that problem.
Lately I was missing more and more channels due to their satellite not being able to acquire the signal. When I called to report this they had me do their usual checklist of reseting everything within the box. When this did not work they said OK ... we have to send a technician to re align the dish. We will charge you $95. When I complained about the charge they noticed that I did have insurance but that I would still be charged a reduced amount (I believe $15).
I know $15 is not a lot, but if I am paying around $170 per month and I am not getting all of my channels ... then I feel like they are taking advantage of me.
I asked for a supervisor and the tech did not want to do this and argued with me for some more time to come. When I did get a supervisor (after a very long delay on hold), the supervisor was even less sympathetic and said that the charge is non negotiable.
Now I am paying for their premium service and been a very long term customer. I have essentially been paying for an incomplete service. My argument is that I should not have to pay them even more to fix their problem ... and that the service agreed upon was never fully delivered.
I am not asking for any refunds for any previous months for which I did not get the full channel line-up. I was only asking them to fix the issue that is preventing them to deliver the product in full. I was not rude and never lost my temper. But I was treated like they were completely uninterested in keeping as a customer.
So my service is now canceled and will not be going back to Dishnetwork. I want people to know what they do under my circumstance. If you are thinking about going with them. I would recommend to get a more reliable service in which you will not be exposed to their dish fragility and end up paying every time there is wind, a storm or who knows what that gets these dishes out of alignment. They only get worse with time. And their support will treat you like a criminal.
