Home Depot Complaint - Contracting with GE for Appliance Delivery - abandon all hope
MIDDLETOWN, RHODE ISLAND -- Home Depot contracts with GE to deliver appliances. They did not come when they said they would, did not call the cell number I made a point of giving when I called back in response to the previous day's confirmation call, and then were 'very sorry' but the driver was now out of the area and the only thing they can do is reschedule for next week which means I have to cancel work meetings and take a day off. Plus I've now got food in my current freezer which doesn't hold a freeze temperature.
In order to be here today for the time period they said they would be coming, I had to rearrange an important meeting and cancel someone who was counting on me to drive them to that meeting.
I paid for the refrigerator, re-arranged my life and impacted other people's lives.
Lesson learned: these big conglomerates like Home Depot contract with other conglomerates like GE and no one is accountable for anything. I wish I had just paid a little more and bought from a smaller local appliance store where I would be dealing one-on-one with people who would be accountable for the service. I've bought appliances from Sears and never had this problem. I think they, at least, do their own deliveries.
