Holiday Inn Complaint - BOGUS $200 smoking charge for non-smoking couple with children
ST. CHARLES, MISSOURI -- My wife and I along with our two children recently stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and Suites in St. Charles, MO address 3098 Elm Point Industrial Drive. I paid for the room in cash only to find out 2 days later that my Visa card was charged $200. I called the hotel and spoke to a CSR named Beverly who informed me that the charge was for what she called a "smoking fee". I asked her what that meant and she explained that they routinely charge customers $200 if they(THINK)that someone smoked in the room. Neither I nor my wife are smokers. I explained to Beverly that the room smelled like cigarette smoke when we checked in, but we did not complain to the front desk. I told her that I do not appreciate being called a liar and asked to speak to a manager, she told me that RAJ (Manager) would not be in until Monday and there was nothing she could do. I currently have a complaint in and am waiting until Monday to speak to RAJ. If I am not fully compensated for this fiasco, I will be posting this along with much more on every review web site I can possibly get onto.
