Tixx.com Informative - At Your Own Risk - Broadway Tickets

BEEEEEEEEEEEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the beginning of any order you are warned that when purchasing initially you may not obtain the seats you paid for and you may receive equal or BETTER seating with your tickets at no additional cost. If tickets are not received within 48 hours you are suppose to call customer service. I paid for 2 tickets $106 each 24 hours prior to the play 'Wicked' because all that was left at ticket master was premium seating at $301 each seat. I also paid for $10.50 fast email tixx as a form of delivery since it was 24 hours till show time, so that I would have my seating arraignment READILY AVAILABLE asap. MY COMPLAINTS ARE I NEVER RECEIVED MY TICKETS BY EMAIL AS THE SHIPPING METHOD I PAID $10.50 FOR, THE RECEIPT DID NOT SHOW SEAT NUMBERS ONLY SEATING AREA, I COULD NOT GET IN TOUCH WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN A RECORDING THAT THE VOICE MAIL BOX WAS FULL, AND RECEIPT STATED I PAID BUT DO NOT HAVE ACTUAL SEATS. The only thing I had was the receipt UNDER MY LOG IN AT www.tixx.com WEBSITE that I could go in TO PRINT MYSELF, I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE AN EMAIL CONFIRMATION STATING I PAID OR THAT MY TICKETS WERE RESERVED!

NOTE: Had I paid for my tickets with WWW. TICKETMASTER. COM or WWW. BROADWAY. COM a few weeks in advance...THAT ARE THE ONLY LEGIT ENTITIES THAT SELL TICKETS AS I WAS TOLD AT THE THEATER....I could have paid the same prices I got through www.tixx.com without the seating HEADACHE!!!!!!!!!!!

WHEN I DID NOT RECEIVE EMAIL TICKETS I had a long day of calling www.tixx.com at their 800 688 4000 phone number posted on their website along with a customer service ordering number at 800 800 8499 WITH NO ANSWER JUST A RECORDING THAT SAYS THE MAIL BOX YOU HAVE REACHED IS FULL AND YOU WILL HAVE TO CALL BACK AT ANOTHER TIME. I finally decided to call the Gershwin Theater regarding my no tickets situation JUST A RECEIPT and I was instructed to show up with the receipt and ask for manager to see what he could do for me.

The receipt showed my payment confirmation and the seating section but I still was not showing up in the Gershwin Theater system NOR DID I ACTUALLY HAVE SEAT NUMBERS. So without a seat number ONLY after speaking to the Gershwin Theater manager in advance and after the ushers were radioed to confirm seating in that section then I was let, in only on the condition that if anyone showed up for those seat numbers we d have to move to other empty seats, or leave all together if we could not be seated elsewhere. The Gershwin Theater was amazing ABOUT THE WHOLE THING, their ushers are very polite and helpful, the manager very cordial and flexible! LUCKY FOR US WE WERE ONLY MOVED ONCE WHEN OTHER GUESTS HAD ARRIVED AND NOT ASKED TO LEAVE TO LEAVE ALL TOGETHER.

THE TWO GOOD THINGS IN THIS STORY IS THE GREAT LAST MINUTE PRICES AND THE GREAT CUSTOMER CARE AT THE GERSHWIN THEATER!

3 LESSONS LEARNED: PLAN THE EVENT OR OUTING THAT COSTS THAT MUCH AT LEAST A WEEK IN ADVANCE-DON'T RUSH, FIND REVIEWS ON THE WEBSITE YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUY FROM, AND REACH A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON WHERE EVER YOU ARE PURCHASING FROM TO CONFIRM WHEN TICKETS WILL BE IN EMAIL BOX PLUS YOUR AVENUES OF PROBLEM SOLVING AND ASK WHATEVER QUESTIONS NECESSARY ETC.

This is a well written review! It's great that the theatre was so helpful.

We always take a chance when we order from the lesser known third parties, and I agree with the OP's "lessons learned". Hopefully, this review with help others avoid the headache the OP experiences.

Yes, it looks like the OP learned a lot from this experience. I wouldn't buy tickets under those conditions especially if I had to travel a way to the theatre. Planning ahead is the best advice.

Great review. Good information for anyone looking for tickets.
