Creditreport.com Complaint - Sale of email address

Review by smdelory on 2010-08-04
My complaint against this company is not on their service but on their ethics. I went to this site to get a credit report. Two days later I began receiving spam. I now get between 10 and 15 spam emails a DAY where I used to only get 10 to 12 per WEEK. I normally do not give my real email address to any company but because I was dealing with a credit report I thought I could trust these people. Obviously I was wrong.

Unfortunately, companies sell email address information all the time. It is the same with catalog merchants. Buy one thing from a catalog and you get catalogs from companies you never even heard of.

Good review. This can be a warning to those looking at the site to use a trow away email as they do sell your info. It's in their Privacy Policy that they can, and sure looks like they do aggressively based on your spam increase.

Thinking back to when I last ordered a "free" credit report, my email was flooded with spam as well. I didn't connect the two, so thank you! I believe you are correct.
