Juniper/Barclays Credit Card Complaint - Avoid Juniper/Barclays bank credit card at all costs!!!!
I signed up for this credit card because they offered a fixed rate 7.99% interest rate which I thought was great. I was out of town when one of the payments came due which caused me to be all of 4 days late. My interest rate was quickly raised to 29.99% of course this was just a few months before the credit laws changed. Then even though I had not charged anything on the card for several months they reduced my credit limit to just above what I had charged.
I finally had had enough and decided to call and get a balance so I could pay off the balance and close the account. I waited until the money showed it had been taken out of my bank account to call to close it so I wouldn't have any problems, the day after it cleared my bank I got an e-mail saying they hadn't received payment and the next months interest had been charged. I called to try to get this amount reversed and of course they refused to do it. They said even though it had cleared my bank it hadn't gone through on their end and since it hadn't gone through on their end they would not reverse the additional interest charge.
I do not see how this company is still allowed to operate, I have dealt with a lot of card companies in my life and this is BY FAR the WORST!!!! Avoid them at all costs. It is not worth the stress and annoyance! This company cares NOTHING about it's customers, the more money they can swindle out of you the better!!!!
