Four Seasons Informative - Couldn't Have Been Any Worse - Hotel

Hotel
Review by jaccop on 2010-08-04
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- Four Points by Sheraton/Midway Airport Chicago is, by far, the worse hotel I'll stayed in. We recently had a family reunion there there so I visited several rooms. All of my relatives had interesting stories to tell about the accommodations. First, the hotel has a terrible, mildewish smell. The carpet in my room actually foul-smelling! There were reports of water bugs, mushrooms growing from the carpet, and the rooms keys never worked. We had to have the keys re-programed also every time we tried to re-enter the room. In addition to that, the staff was rude and un friendly. This is not a place I'd ever want to re-visit.

I've not stayed in the area, but I've flown into midway a number of times and driven out. It's not, well, the best that Chicago has to offer the world. I can imagine that a hotel in the area is probably going to be pretty rundown. Thanks for letting us know. Sorry for the bad experience. At least you saw the relatives, right? Well, I'm assuming seeing the relatives is a good thing. Maybe not so much.

I thought they closed midway to commercial traffic.

Just a heads up in regards to hotel room keys--they deactivate whenever they're near an electronic, such as laptop, cell phone, etc. I'm not saying that's why your keys kept deactivating, but it happens so much at our hotel. Just giving a heads up so hopefully I can save some people some time and headaches :)

Ontario, maybe in Canada, but not in the US...I spend 2-5 nights a week in hotels. Key is in my pocket by cell phone, laid next to laptop while working etc. no problems. Sounds like a problem with the hotel's system.

There's a pretty signifigant difference between Sheraton Four Points, and the Four Seasons.

"We had to have the keys re-programed also every time we tried to re-enter the room."

out of curiosity.... you had all the keys reprogrammed at the same time? just wondering, cos when a key is reprogrammed, the lock is reprogrammed too, so... if you have 2 keys and reprogram one, the other will need to be reprogrammed as well. tho i could be wrong.

as for the bad smells... did you tell them right away?
cos... well telling them right away often means you may be able to get it fixed right away. (better than telling them after the fact i mean)
