Cracker Barrel Complaint - Worse Service - Restaurant
PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA -- On two different occasions my wife and I have found that the service at our local Cracker Barrel restaurant deteriorates dramatically after 8 pm. On our last visit to the Pembroke Pines, Florida, store that we frequent, we waited over 50 minutes to find out that my wife's entree was not available. After switching her entree, we waited another 30 minutes or so to find out that the second entree was not available either. After requesting to speak with the Manager, he admitted that they had run out of some food items and that he was not even sure what was available in the kitchen. After prodding, he finally admitted they were out of mashed potatoes and other items. We complained to him that we should have been informed earlier about the lack of available food in the restaurant and that it was abusive to have kept us waiting for over one and a half hours, when in fact they were unable to serve us. He replied that company rules forbade him to tell customers that they had run out of food and suggested we would be better off leaving, which we did after having waited close to two hours.
We complained to the company and we received a generic, non-specific form letter of apology. We have been customers for over 20 years when the closest Cracker Barrel was in another state. Needless to say we are never taking our chances with Cracker Barrel again. We feel they don't deserve us.
