Berkley Timeshare at the Weston2-Ft Lauderdale Florida Complaint - Being Ripped Off - Timeshare

Review by rangerboy on 2010-08-05
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA -- Berkley Timeshare is a rip-off. I would not advise anyone investing their hard earned money into this type of deal because once you buy one and change your mind with in the grace period you can not get a hold of anyone to return it back to them so you are stuck with it and you can't even sell it or trade it for a different location with out buying a new one or paying an exchange fee through RCI and that is another rip-off. I was charged 49.00 dollars for them to sell or rent my timeshare and I called to check on it and they know nothing about it, imagine that for my answer from them. The biggest rip off ever.

Timeshares are a ripoff and I can't understand how people get sucked into buying them even with the high pressure sales tactics they use. JUST SAY NO! I worked for a timeshare company for 4 years and I know its a ripoff. People stop being stupid!

I got stuck once, too. However, after signing and realizing that it was a very stupid move on my part, I read the fine print in the agreement. In very fine print it stated I had a 3 day recizion (sp?) period if I MAILED a letter to the company. I mailed a certified letter so I had a receipt of when I sent it and when it was delivered and also took a copy of the letter stating I wanted to cancel to the location of the presentation and handed it to the manager. He stated, "I will take care of this for you". I told him I had already mailed the same letter to the company. I am sure he would have just thrown the letter away. The look on his face when I told him I mailed it was "Priceless". I got out of the deal.
