Ashley Furniture Complaint - Less than average quality furniture
WAYNE,, NEW JERSEY -- When my fiance and I went furniture shopping at Ashley Furniture, we believed the furniture to be of a high quality based upon their price points. We purchased a $1,200 bedroom set, a $3,500. leather couch and love seat, a $350. coffee table and a $350. entertainment center. We made the majority of our purchases in the summer of 2009 and the entertainment piece in the winter of 2009. It is now August of 2010 and unfortunately, we have had the following issues regarding our purchases.
1. Our entertainment center cabinet door shattered literally off the hinges when we tried clicking the door shut.
2. One of the side panels to our King Sleigh bed (the piece that connected the headboard to the side panel) split in half and the right side of the mattress is now on the floor. (Mind you this is my side of the bed, I am 5'6" and 125 lbs.)
3. My fiance's armoire drawer guide broke and it no longer glides in and out of the armoire, it drops out if pulled out too far.
We called Ashley furniture on the Monday after fourth of July to come and have it repaired. They sent an independent gentleman to assess the damage to determine whether it was fixable or not. He determined that all 3 pieces were in fact broken. He was supposed to submit his report and Ashley furniture was supposed to contact us as soon as possible to let us know when it would be replaced. Two weeks later, my fiance called and was given the run around. After a month now, we are still with broken furniture. Evidently, since everyone in the company is outsourcing to someone else, no one seems to want to take responsibility. They determined that they will need to now come out and pick up the pieces to see if they can be fixed because all of our pieces are discontinued.
