JP Morgan Chase Complaint - Savings Fees
I am a former Washington Mutual customer. I loved dealing with that bank. Now I have Chase. I just got my savings statement showing that I had $12 taken out for going over my savings withdrawal limit. I have never seen anything like this before and was unaware of these fees. I called the bank. They total me according to Federal Regulation D I was limited to six withdrawals per month. I had never heard this before. I looked it up. Federal Regulation D does limit savings withdrawals to six per month but does not count ATM or in person withdrawals towards that number. I called Chase back to clarify what they told me. The supervisor quoted Reg. D again. I explained to her what Reg. D actually stated. I suggested that instead of hiding behind Reg. D they would be better off being honest with their customers and let them know they are charging a fee because they can. It has nothing at all to do with the Federal Regulation D. They will charge for $3 per withdrawal over four withdrawals, no matter how you take out your money - in person, ATM, pre-authorized, on-line. Good luck and beware of Chase and their fees!
