Honda, Temecula, CA Complaint - Car repainted and sold as new-Lost value

Review by mkathleenj on 2010-08-06
TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA -- I bought a brand new 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid and have just had it appraised by CarMax for trade in-value and they told me the entire car has been repainted reducing, the value by over $3,000 dollars. Dealership never told me the car was repainted and in my opinion, stole my money by failing to report a value changing alteration, while charging me full price for the car. I highly recommend future customers to have the car appraised by CarMax BEFORE they buy to ensure this does not happen to them.
Am seeking retribrution,
Mkathleenj, CA

I hope someone who knows about cars chimes in on this one. I don't know a lot about cars, but my first though is that this dealer is trying to give you a lowball trade and the paint thing is an excuse. How do they know the car has been repainted?

go to carfax.com and see if it was repainted. A car is either new or it isn't.

I think the OP has CarFax and CarMax confused.
