Appliance Rescue Service Complaint - Icemaker repair lasted 5 months

Review by icemaker on 2010-08-07
PAULSBORO, NEW JERSEY -- Appliance Rescue service charged 79 dollars to walk in the door, of course they do not have the most common part to repair my ice maker, which means they have to order it if you want it repaired, "but will not charge another service call"----well now that you invested 79 dollars of course..come back and fix it for 300 more dollars. BUT IT BREAKS AGAIN in 5 months !!!!!!!
Total= 380 dollars, broken again in 5 months!!!
I have a call in on Saturday--I'll see how they handle follow-up. Cha Ching

Since there is no appliance repairman tree, you have to pay to have someone to come out. $79 is not bad. You have to consider travel time, vehicles, tools, business license, buildings, other employees, and especially in New Jersey, taxes, both State and local. With the number of appliances and parts, it makes no sense to have them on hand. It would cost a fortune, and people are crying about the cost of service to begin with. So you got 5 months with the repair, you didn't mention of old the fridge is. Maybe it's time to get a new one.
