GM;Hawthorne Chevrolet Complaint - They Just Don't Care!
Resolution Update on 08/16/2010:
I wrote GM and Gm executive office assisted in resolution. I took car to GMC of Mahwah and they corrected the slow window and loud rattle in the door. I took car back to Hawthotne Chevy and the Service manager took car on the spot to body shop and removed most of the scratch (bare metal nick too deep to hide even with touchup). Service Manager and GM also apologized. I can finally put this past me (after 2 months and 6 dealer ship visit) and hopefully this will help make GM and the Dealership a better company becuase we need a strong and good GM.
HAWTHORNE, NEW JERSEY -- Totally incompetent service, management and workmanship. My 2005 GTO window on drivers side fell apart. Car only had 29K mile and babied. I bought car new with 60K extended warranty at additional 1.6K. Since Pontiac is gone I toke car to Hawthone Chevy to fix the window motor. They refused to fix it because warranty GM company said glase is not covered. I refused this answer because the glass was not broken, the window would not go up and down. After 1.5 months and incompetence I finally got them to get the right part and fix the power window. In each case I had to push for service and constantly had to follow-up for resolution. The first tech quit and then when manager agreed I should be serviced he failed to follow-up on getting parts and loaner car. After 3 trips on day parts arrived although I had appointment for 7 am, I showed up early and was not serviced till last from all others. After 20 min. I was told my loaner would not available for another 40 minutes. That it was too bad, I could take a bus. Later in day I had to call to find out if the car was finally fixed. I was told it was fixed and went to pick car up. I found car filthy with grease on windows and all over. They even scratched my finish to the metal; the window slow to a crawl when closing and everything shakes. I took car back to show service manager and they did not care. I have spent hours cleaning grease and trying to redo the molding, side mirror, side air vent that were loose and mis-installed. They even scratched the finish on the middle of driver's door at window molding; in one part all the way down to the metal. This has been the worst service and workmanship I have ever seen. To go through a 1.5 month of countless miss management and dis-concern winding up with shotty job and scratched finish, shaky side view mirror, grease in and out of the car that now rattles when window is open and door closes with the window grinding to a halt as it closes... is a darn shame. Worst off is they just don't care. I'm more scared to bring it back. It's a lost cause for this service center and GM. They actually damaged my car!
