Firepower, Inc. (Spokane) Complaint - Firepower Inc.Contracting Methods

Review by disappointed in spokane on 2010-08-09
SPOKANE, WASHINGTON -- When thinking about home security service providers, avoid Firepower Inc. in Spokane. You will be glad you did.

Here's why: In my opinion: (1) the service was subpar; (2)the administrative office staff was rude; and (3)they surprised me with their "monitoring service agreement" they gave me after they installed their product. When I refused the draconian terms of the monitoring agreement, first seen after installation, they threatened suit. Don't agree to any installation of their product until you review and agree to the monitoring service agreement. There are some real surprises in that one, and they are unpredictable.

Good review. You are never liable unless you sign the agreement. To threaten suit unless you sign a contract is disgusting.

According to Clark Howard on Saturday morning, NEVER sign a contract when getting a home security system. Ask them on the phone if they requirte a contract. If they say yes, tell them goodbye and go to the next one on the list. According to Clark, you should be able to build your own system fairly inexpensively, then find a monitor service for about $15 per month with no contract. I can build quite a good system with components from Radio Shack for just a couple hundred dollars.
