mini netbbook - Complaint
Review by badassaznmami on 2010-08-09
Had brought this net book 3months ago, had issue on 3rd week after purchasing this net book, had call customer service was on the phone, add least a hour and technician kept make me repeat myself, when I had no clue what he was saying, I had ask for the manager, had me on hold for 15 minutes and he help out and say am sorry. So, my net book was working fine for 2 weeks and Then after I had the same issues again, i had call them again about this issue, but this time they couldn't help me, told me that I had sent it in for repair and I had paid for shipping fee, and lose all memories I had on the computer. wtf!are you serious I just purchase this net book less then 2 months ago, i had told the tech supporter and complain about it, this is what he told me in his exact word if you have a complaint go on our website, i guess this is how HP treat they paying customer, so I ask to speak to they manager, he was horrible and cocky about it, after a hour on the phone with them I gave up. i can't believe HP paying these people to treat they customer like this..never again HP screw it..AM OFFICIAL TAKE MY BUSINESS OVER TO MAC

What is the issue you are having?

Just so you know - they have to tell you by law that they will reformat your hard drive so you have a chance to back your data up. Why? Because part of usual troubleshooting includes setting your computer back to it's factory original state so they can determine if the issue you are having is due to a program you added or not. Also, in many cases they put in a new hard drive and due to privacy laws they are not permitted to transfer the date off the old hard drive. How do I know? I used to work on the team that came up with the explanation they HAVE to give you when you send your laptop in for service. Why does it exist in the first place? Because people would call and complain that they lost all their data when we shipped their repaired laptop back - you are responsible for your data, not HP. Back it up onto a USB drive, compact disk, or even an external drive but do not expect HP to not wipe your hard drive as part of the troubleshooting process at the repair center.
