Travelocity Complaint - Poor Service - Hotel Reservations
I booked a hotel reservation through Travelocity for 7/27-7/28/2010 at the Grand Ocean Hotel at Va. Beach, Va. Upon arrival, I was told that the room had been booked in my name for 7/26 and that I was considered a no show. The hotel maintained my status as a no show even tho I had copies of my reservation. After arguing with the hotal management, I finally called Travelocity to get it straight. Meanwhile I was told that the hotel was full and I also noticed that the room rate for that day was $139 and Travelocity had charged me $169 as a "bargain rate". After more waiting I was told that there was one room available. The room was totally unacceptable as it was damp(smelling of mildew), dark with the curtains falling down. Finally, after what seemed like hours, I was offerred a room with a floor that had soaking wet puddles, dingy towels and a nasty mat in the bottom of the tub. I t was one of my worst travling experiences. I want some kind of compensation from Travelocity for the mix-up and the stress that I suffered on what was suppose to be a rlaxation time.
