Dish Network Complaint - Help! Dish Network Stinks
BLUEFIELD, VIRGINIA -- Signed a 2 year contract with Dish Network on January 2010. Moved July 30, 2010. Contacted dish to schedule new service hookup for Sat. July 31 between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm. No show, no phone call. Called them to see what happened and if anyone was coming. Was advised first that no one was scheduled to come. Asked to speak to supervisor, who eventually told me that they did not have a technician available, although one was scheduled to come. They offered me a weekday hookup, which I had to refuse due to work schedule. I told them that I wanted out of my contract because of delay of installation. Was told that I could get out of contract but they would deduct $274.00 from my checking account. I told them that I would call back to reschedule. Second appointment was for Sunday Aug. 8, 2010. At least this time the technician did call me three times to firstly say he would be late and finally that he had gotten tied up and couldn't come. Please note that both of these appts were on the weekend and I normally go out of town on weekends. I called back to reschedule, again was given a week day appt, which I couldn't miss work for.
I still have not rescheduled and have now been without TV for 2 weeks. I have scheduled Comcast to come today and hook me up. Anybody know how to go about getting rid of Dish without having to pay. They said not showing up to install is not breech of contract on their part.
