Vonage Complaint - Vonage Will Not Let You Cancel Service
We have had the Vonage home phone service since 2008. It worked ok for about a year and a half. Then we started having problems with dropped calls. We called technical support for about 3 months and decided it wasn't worth the hassle any more. I was using the phone for my work. We called Vonage and explained to them that we don't want the service any more because of poor quality about 3 months ago. They said that they were going to credit us for 3 months of service and cancel our service. We were still getting email notifications of voice mails. They were also trying to take a payment out of our bank. (mind you - we threw away the Vonage equipment and didn't have the home phone hooked up). We called back a month ago and told them that we didn't want the service and were told again that they would cancel our service. Now today I was checking our e-mails and again saw that we were still getting voice messages through our e-mail and that they were still trying to take a payment. Mind you-they were charging us monthly for service that should have been cancelled 3 months ago. My husband called customer service, again, and he was explaining what we wanted. The agent kept trying to send us a new device. It took forever for her to understand that we don't want Vonage. She finally agreed to cancel our service, but told us that we have an amount due of $153.00. And that we had 30 days to change our mind, and would keep receiving e-mail voice messages for90 days. He asked for a supervisor. When the supervisor finally got on the phone, my husband explained everything again. The supervisor hung up on him. He is currently on hold to speak to another supervisor. He has been on the phone with them for over 2 hours. And I just know that they will not cancel our service and will continue to bill us, even though we no longer have their system hooked up. DO NOT ENROLL IN VONAGE! YOU WILL NEVER GET RID OF THEM!
