FIOS Complaint - Avoid FIOS Like the Plague
Being 52 years of age, it is a lot to say I have just had the worst customer service experience of my life, and it still isn't over. I made the mistake of ordering FiOS because I didn't think they could be as bad as Comcast. I was wrong. They are worse. The on line ordering system was time consuming to begin with. Eventually I got through that. At the end, I selected my installation appointment (which printed out with the work order summary) They warn you that you have to stay home with them for at least 4 hours to get the job done. 10 days later, I got an email confirming a different installation time than that which I booked. I replied to the email, stupidly thinking someone would read my reply and act accordingly. On Sunday I got a robotic phone call, still trying to book the wrong appointment time. I pushed the button I was supposed to push to tell them this appointment time was not acceptable. The robot then tells me I can't answer them now because it's Sunday. I left a note for the installer Tues morning (the WRONG installation time)telling them I could not take a day off of work to accommodate their error. I came home, and my phone service was cut off. 3 days later, still no phone service. An hour and a half blown on the phone yesterday, being transferred from department to department. Each transfer was same: Sit on hold for 10-15 minutes, then give them your name, address, phone # and tell them your problem, only to be told I've called the wrong place. This morning I opened a case with the Board of Public Utilities. Instead of turning my phone on, they followed up with an email telling me they've rescheduled my FiOS installation 32 days from now. I tried email Verizon, but couldn't get through. I tried "live chat" and all they would do was tell me to call the phone # I started out with yesterday,
so I disconnected and sent another note to the Public Utilities Commisson.
And of course, my phone service is still off.
