Vizio Complaint - POP of DEATH - Vizio 042l

Vizio 042l - Complaint
Review by mike adams on 2010-08-12
I am very disappointed by Vizios obvious defective product. I purchased it less than two years ago and yesterday POP screen gone. Called the customer service number and was referred to a third party who does not service in my area...........lLas Vegas.
I purchased it from Costco. Frankly, I think Costco should not have a product of such ill repute for sale. after going on the Internet I found lots and lots of folks with the same problem.
Amazingly they all seem to have them shortly after warranty exoneration.
Please do yourself a favor and do not buy a Vizio product

It sounds to me the bulb blew in it. Sometimes they are easy fixes, and other times not.

OK, the good news is that you bought the TV at COSTCO and it has been less than two years. The manufacturer's warranty may be for one year, but COSTCO gives you an additional year for free.

Call 1-866-861-0450 (COSTCO's Concierge Services).

Be sure to come back and leave a review for COSTCO when this pans out.

Vizio is a tier 3 product, offered at a less expensive price point. That seems to be fine if the consumer realizes this fact. If you're going to replace it, consider a Sony, Sharp or, for plasma, a Panasonic.
