My return of this phone was not properly reimbursed. I spoke to a customer service supervisor. He did not adequately resolve the
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- On August 11, 2009 I purchased a cell phone, Motorola Z8 GSM Unlocked Cell Phone Next Day (1-3 Business Days) $172.99. I never received the phone and UPS said they never picked it up from Overstock's warehouse. It was implied that the phone was stolen because it was scanned and I had a tracking number. They could not send me another phone because they said it was out of stock. This took over 2 weeks, because of all the problems I spoke with the supervisor she gave me an upgrade on to another cell phone which was the Samsung F700, $349.99. I was told to pay the 172.99 which was the cost of the Motorola Z8, plus I had a $40.00 credit on my account for the 3 day shipping charged. Due to all the issues with the order I was allowed to purchase the Samsung F700, with the balance being a courtesy from overstock for all the issues with the other phone.
At that time I explained to them that I wanted a US Phone. I was never told the F700 was only serviced and you could only buy accessories in Europe, China, Netherlands etc. I don't think
After having the phone for 5 months the battery stopped working and was determined defective. I tried to purchase a replacement battery and could not find a company in the U.S. that carried the battery. I called the company and they could not find a replacement battery. I never received the battery. Finally I called a company called Vonofone and found out the phone is not serviced in the US and I would not be able to buy an accessories or get any support for this phone in the US. I was never told any of this by Overstock. After having the phone for almost a year and had use of it for only about 4 months I informed the company that I was returning the phone. I was allowed to return the phone, however I was only reimbursed $148.86 which they say is the cost of the Motorola Z8. I have my receipt for the Motorola Z8, so they did not even reimburse me correctly for the Motorola Z8. I asked for the phone back which they refused to send it back to me and also refused to give me another phone comparable to the F700.
I have all my correspondence to them via emails. I am not looking for monetary return just a phone I could use in the US comparable to the one I returned. I feel like the stole from me. I am very frustrated. I would appreciate you feedback on how to handle this issue.
