Medco Insurance Complaint - Medco Insurance is a terrible company

Review by Tofo on 2010-08-14
Medco Insurance is the company that my employer chooses to cover my family's pharmacy medication. It is completely without reserve, when I express what a horrible provider they are.
When it comes to copays, they seem to make up the amount I pay, on a whime. It is never the same, never consistent, and seems to not follow any set rules, whatsoever.
But what I hate most, is their lack of customer support. When I call them, to find out why my copay fluctuates so. The representative actually says she doesn't know, it "is company policy". What kind of answer is that? In addition, when I complain about how little information they are willing to give. They constantly try to pass the buck, by telling me to take up the issue with the pharmacy, or my employer.
On the service, they want their customers to believe that they are stupid, but sadly, it is they that think their customers are stupid, taking advantage in such a heartless opportunistic way.
I cannot believe their ways of doing business are legal. Unfortunately, the only recourse I have is to complain on a blog site, while they go merrily on, ripping off the public.

IT may be hard to get an answer from them, but you can talk to the person at your work who handles the insurance. What level of coverage Medco provides to you is linked to what level of coverage your employer has purchased from them. The more expensive plan, the better the coverage. The copays typically depend on if the medication is a preferred medication. I know when we had Medco it was hard to figure out their system. Your employer should be able to provide you with this information. Good luck.

I agree Medco is the worst company ever. I hate them yet I am FORCED by my employer to use their services. They deserve to go out of business.
