Priceline.com Complaint - Different prices - Hotel booking
I took the chance and booked a hotel reservation through Priceline.com. I was offered a lower rate than others online. I arrived and was given a smoking room instead of nonsmoking because this is what the hotel had left. First of all the hotel could not locate my reservation. It seemed that this reservation basically was treated as "whatever we have leftover we will offer". I phoned Priceline and they were unable to help. I told them at that time that I would not use their service again. Now I am checking my statement for the hotel charge and the hotel offered me a lower rate but Priceline would not offer me the same rate. The customer service representative stated only that "this is a rate offered only to Priceline and we are unable to give you this rate". I told her that I booked the hotel room through Priceline "why could I not have the rate". She continued to repeat the same explanation. I told her the explanation was vague and did not make any sense. Please be cautious when using this company. Save yourself the headache. I have used many other online travel services with success. This is the first unpleasant experience that I have encountered.
